The 66kg class lifted first on Day 2 of the World Equipped Powerlifting Championships in Druskininkai, Lithuania.  Yusuke Satake took the squat gold with his 295kg opener but 7-time world champion, Tsung-Ting Hsieh came back strong on bench, lifting 217.5kg for the bench gold and closing the gap to Satake, now only 5kg ahead.  Hsieh shot past on deadlift and, despite a valiant last ditch effort by Satake, won his 8th world title.

1  Tsung-Ting Hsieh TPE - 785kg
2  Yusuke Satake JPN - 770kg
3  Mariusz Grotkowski POL - 757.5kg

In the 57kg class, Kenia Monserrate hit a new world record of 227.5kg and secured the squat gold.  Kimberly Johnson shot out into the lead on bench though, snagging the bench gold with 150kg - an impressive 17.5kg ahead of anyone else.  She had the biggest deadlift too - a great 200kg pull - which put her 20kg ahead and secured her first world title.  There was quite a scrap for the other two podium places and, in the end, Monserrate beat Alessandra Cernigliaro only on bodyweight.

1  Kimberly Johnson USA - 555kg
2  Kenia Monserrate ECU - 535kg
3  Alessandra Cernigliaro ITA - 535kg

We closed Day 2 with a historic 74kg session.  17 time world champion, Jarosław Olech, came out swinging with a phenomenal 345kg squat.  He did not go unchallenged though: last year's bronze medallist, Alex Ochoa, was on great form and benched 220kg to slip past the Polish legend by 2.5kg at sub-total.   This quickly reversed as we moved onto deadlift and Olech went on to pull an impressive 315kg to cement his 18th world title, much to the delight of the huge Polish contingent in the crowd, waving Polish flags and chanting his name.  A brilliant end to a fantastic day of lifting.

1  Jarosław Olech POL - 862.5kg
2  Alex Ochoa ECU - 827.5kg
3  Go Suzuki JPN - 797.5kg

At the end of Day 2, Olech and Johnson led the Best Lifter contests.  Ecuador maintained their position at the top of the men's team rankings, a single point ahead of Chinese Taipei.  In the women's team competition, Ukraine still led ahead of USA and GBR.

The action isn't over - the 83kg, 63kg and 93kg classes lift on Day 3 and promise some great lifting.  All sessions streamed live and for free on the Olympics YouTube channel.
