The 47kg class is shaping up to be one of the hottest head to head battles at Classic Worlds.
Two time world champion and deadlift world record holder, Heather Connor, will be looking to oust the current world champion (and squat world record holder) Tiffany Chapon.
France’s Turbo Tiff, still a junior, totalled 418kg at French nationals and is carrying a huge amount of momentum. But deadlift queen Heather Connor is back on the world’s stage for the first time since taking the title in Helsingborg in 2019 and she will be looking to take back her crown. We know she’s been training in equipment ready for The World Games - will this affect her raw performance?
It’s likely that we will see world records set in every discipline - will Wei-Ling Chen’s total world record of 407.5kg finally fall? It’s stood since 2015 but we may well see both lifters smash through it: they’ve both totalled more in the last year but can they do it while fighting for gold?
Find out on 6th June - the first day of the Classic World Championship in Sun City, South Africa. Livestreamed on the Olympic Channel and our facebook page.
