IPF World Equipped Juniors & Masters 2021 - 76kg and above juniors

We started Day 5 of the Sub-junior, Junior and Masters World Championships with the women’s sub-junior and junior classes 76kg and above.

From the start, Sonja-Stefanie Krueger put on a fantastic show. Junior world record holder in every lift in the 69kg class, Krueger lifted today in the 76s and started as she meant to go on by taking the junior world record in squat at 257.5kg. She followed this up with 180kg for her second attempt on bench and another junior world record. In the same class, Agata Sitko benched 175kg for her third which would have been the junior world record had Krueger not taken it moments before. Krueger took the junior total world record at 627.5kg with her first pull but soon came under pressure from the Polish lifter who extended her own junior deadlift world record with a phenomenal pull at 218kg. Krueger got her 3rd deadlift at 205kg forcing Sitko to call for 233kg to pull for the title. It was a valiant effort but she couldn’t get it past her knees and she had to settle for the deadlift gold and the overall silver. Absolutely phenomenal lifter from both.
A close run battle in the 84kg sub-junior class came to an end when Estonian Eliise Mikomagi did not manage her third deadlift attempt, handing the world title to Wiktoria Sieczka of Poland.
Ailen Mendoza from Argentina attempted the sub-junior world record deadlift at 191kg in the 76kg class but narrowly missed it but still took the title ahead of Ukrainian Anastasiia Astapova.
Gripping lifting from these young women, representing the future of the sport.
