IPF World Equipped Juniors & Masters 2021 - junior heavyweight men

We closed the Sub-junior, Junior and Masters Equipped World Championships with the 120kg and 120+kg classes.

In the sub-junior 120kg class, Oleksii Lisenko of Ukraine collected a chest full of gold medals, narrowly holding off Iraq’s Zainulabdeen Al-Omairi in deadlift to complete the set.
In the sub-junior 120+kg class, Ilia Sherstnev of Russia was absolutely dominant, taking the sub-junior squat world record with his opening lift. His second deadlift at 300g was enough to claim the sub-junior total world record which he then pushed up to 942.5kg with his final lift.
In the junior 120kg class, Aleksandra Kuzmin put himself a long way ahead of the pack with a 362.5kg deadlift but there was a real battle for the rest of the podium places. The last round of deadlifts saw the silver medal position change hands on every lift. Dmytro Holinei of Ukraine pulled a huge 312.5kg to match big bencher Martin Prokop who himself was only 2.5kg ahead of Poland’s Mariusz Tworkowski.
The impressive young Russian in the junior super heavyweights, Semen Dukshanin, ran away with the competition, going 9 for 9 and ending up with a 1010kg total to walk away junior World Champion.
This session brought the competition to an exciting close. We saw great battles, world records, victory and defeat in our combined youth and experience world championships. We hope you enjoyed the competition and will join us in congratulating the athletes for some incredible performances.
