British Team at Classic Worlds - Tasmin Campbell

Tasmin Campbell of Scotland has won back to back British titles in the 69kg class and holds the British bench, deadlift and total records too.  She did what she needed to do this year to beat Annie Nelson by half a kilo, securing her invitation to lift at Classic Worlds in Malta.

A firm member of Team Push-Pull, Tasmin was never going to be fighting at the front on squat.  Her squat has been improving recently though and 170kg for her second looked good.  175kg for a new personal best was not on the cards though and Tasmin trailed in 13th place going into bench.

Tasmin is one of our best benchers though and she hammered out three solid attempts, finishing up with a slow and grindy 120kg for a new British record and the bench silver.  This pulled her up to 9th place at sub-total.

Tasmin showed some fight on deadlift with an aggressive attempt selection - 207.5kg - a chunk more than she usually starts with - but it flew!.  215kg on her second was already a PB and a British record but it hardly slowed her down at all.

The battles were fierce right the way through this class and, for her final attempt, Tasmin attempted 222.5kg for the deadlift silver and to move up to 5th place overall.  It was a tough pull but it never stopped moving and Tasmin extended her own British records even more.

This was a tough class packed with big name lifters and 5th place is a phenomenal result.  At the rate she's improving through, she's going to be making an impact on those rankings very soon indeed.
