IPF World Bench 2021 - classic junior men

The men’s sub-junior classes were hotly contested with many podium places going on bodyweight, including the gold medal in the 105s. Aivis Plocins of Latvia in the 83kg class opened with a world record of 190kg, missed 195kg on his second and, amazingly, nailed 200kg for his third. This got him the best lifter award.
Emil Lundgren of Sweden in the 74s also opened with a world record of 173kg and pushed it up to 180.5kg on his second. Kazakhstan won the team contest with three world champions ahead of Poland’s two.
In the junior 66kg class, a 2.5kg spread covered the whole podium with Chebanov (KAZ) winning out on bodyweight. In the 83s, Volodymyr Tiutiushkin (UKR) dramatically shot into first place and scooped the best lifter award on his third attempt, having missed his first two lifts.
The 93kg class was also decided on bodyweight when Zhavlan Shaukatov of Kazakhstan missed 202.5kg, leaving ROC’s Andrei Talko to take the gold. ROC won the team award this time with three world champions.

This was a great session to close out the juniors with a high standard of lifting throughout.
